Press Release: Dr. Frederic L. Johnstone

Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Frederic L. Johnstone, who serves patients in Washington.

Dr. Johnstone is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with a clinical interest in hand surgery and upper extremity disorders. He is in practice with Rainier Orthopedic Institute, operating out of the offices in Puyallup and Bonney Lake, Washington. After completing medical school at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1982, followed by an internship at Madigan Army Medical Center, Dr. Johnston served a little over a year as a flight surgeon in Korea. He also served in Desert Storm with the 28th Combat Support Hospital, and has served as chief of orthopedics, orthopedic residency director, and chief of surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center. He completed additional training with a fellowship in orthopedic hand surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Specializing in hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity disorders, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS).
